Melissa Recycles

Recycling will be collected once a week, on the same day as your trash pickup.7-0recyclecartcrop_edit-e1505758120705

All recyclables must be placed loosely inside the blue 95-gallon recycle cart. Please do not bag recyclables.

Place all recyclable items out no later than 7:00 am on your service day for pickup between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Please ensure the recycle cart and the trash cart are separated by at least three (3) feet, and three (3) feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Position the cart with wheels toward the residence, ensuring there is a 16-foot clearance above the cart. Overloaded carts will not be serviced.

CWD is turning recycling into relief for Kerr County

In response to the tragic flooding in Kerr County on July 4, Community Waste Disposal (CWD) is stepping up to help. 

For the entire month of August 2025, CWD will donate $10 for every ton of recyclable materials collected across all the cities they serve, including Melissa.

Here’s how you can help:

Recycle more than ever this month. The more we recycle, the more support goes to flood victims and their families through the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

This effort is modeled after CWD’s 2005 campaign following Hurricane Katrina, which helped boost recycling by 15%!
