Citation Dismissal by Demonstrating Compliance

The following offenses may be dismissed in the Court Clerk's office if the violation has been corrected on or before the court appearance date and payment of the dismissal fee has been received:

Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility (No Insurance)

Defendant must provide proof of valid liability insurance on the date and time of the offense. If found to be valid, the case will be dismissed. There is no fine for dismissal.

Expired Vehicle Registration 

Defendant must present a dated vehicle registration receipt showing the violation was corrected on or before the court date and the registration late penalty fee was paid to the County Tax Assessor’s Office. – There is a $20 dismissal reimbursement fee.

Expired Driver's License

Defendant must present proof that the driver’s license was renewed. – There is a $20 dismissal reimbursement fee.

Failure to Display Driver's License

Defendant must present proof to the court of an appropriate and valid driver’s license issued in their name and was valid at the time of the offense. – There is a $10 dismissal reimbursement fee.

Failure to Report Address or Name Change on Driver's License

Defendant must present proof to the court that their address/name was corrected on or before the Defendant’s court date. – There is a $20 dismissal reimbursement fee.

Violate Driver's License Restriction

Defendant must show that the Department of Public Safety (DPS) removed the restriction or endorsement before the defendant’s first court date. – There is a $10 dismissal reimbursement fee

Court Appearances

If you do not dispose of your citation by one of these methods before your court date, you must appear on the scheduled court date. If you fail to appear on the scheduled court date, it may result in additional fees.
