How do I report a crime tip?

The Melissa Police Department offers a tip line for Melissa residents to use for non-emergency situations. The phone number is 972-838-2075 and callers are able to leave a message for the Police to follow up on their tip. This line is not for emergencies and In the event of an emergency or when suspicious activity or a crime is in progress residents should call 911 immediately. When calling the tip line, you should provide the following information:

  • As many details about the incident/activity as possible
  • The type of incident or activity to which you are calling about
  • Where and when the activity occurs, information on the person(s) committing the offense

You may remain anonymous, however, if you wish to be contacted at a later time, please also include your name and telephone number so an officer may contact you directly.
