2025 Recreational Programming Survey


The City of Melissa conducted the Special Recreation Survey with OnPointe Insights from March 19 to April 6, 2025, receiving 1,083 responses (margin of error: ± 3.1%). The survey measured resident interest in City recreation programs, preferred activity times, registration methods, and valued park benefits.

City Highlights
Program Priorities: Walking, biking, and group exercise classes ranked highest among fitness interests, while pickleball and basketball led in sports participation. Outdoor activities such as adventure sports, mountain biking, and hiking also scored strongly.

Community Events: Concerts and movies in the park were top-performing arts interests, along with larger live performances and social activities like community games and volunteering.

Learning & Hobbies: Residents expressed interest in arts and crafts, vocational training, and financial education programs.

Scheduling & Access: Most residents prefer weekend programs in the morning or afternoon and favor mobile registration through a phone app or browser.

Park Benefits: Residents value parks most for providing outdoor access and supporting health and fitness opportunities.

These insights will guide the City’s future Parks and Recreation programming and investment priorities.
