January 2024 | Public Safety

We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community through continuous public safety enhancements. Our vision goes beyond mere reactive measures, emphasizing proactivity designed based on the collective insights acquired through the Community Survey.

Our community survey demonstrated a strong consensus, with 88% of participants echoing that an increase in public safety funding is an essential step towards securing our present and future, further solidifying our commitment to this cause.

Moving forward, addressing the imminent surge in growth is an integral part of our public safety strategies. The city’s residents aptly question the capacity of our police force and fire department to meet the demands of our expanding community.

In May 2024, you will have a crucial say in the reallocation of our existing sales tax rate, a portion of which currently funds industrial development, towards fortifying our police and fire resources. If approved, these funds will enable us to establish a second fire station, recruit additional personnel, purchase essential fire apparatus, and equip our police force with the necessary technology and personnel for specialized divisions like motor pool and commercial vehicle enforcement.
