Staff dealing with payment history data on utiity bills

The staff of Utility Billing has become aware of payment history discrepancies in some bills that have recently arrived in customer homes and is stridently working on rectifying them.

Staff believes the vast majority of these discrepancies are linked to transactions made during the Fathom closeout transition period that did not convert as expected.

If your bill is showing errors in applying previous payments to your account, or you previously contacted UB, the UB staff is already working on correcting the discrepancies.

If you would still like to pay your bill prior to its correction, please pay the total amount shown on the line titled “Current Charges – Past Due After 4/22/2020”. This is the total charge for your current billing cycle and does not factor in any past discrepancies.

We ask for your patience while we work through the transition to the new billing system. Any other bill concerns can be sent to ub@cityofmelissa.com. Due to a higher than normal volume of calls and working through this issue, wait times will be longer than usual.
