How do I request an additional trash or recycle cart?
If you should decide that you require more than one trash cart, you may call the Utility Billing Department at 972-838-2035 to order a second trash cart. You will be charged a nominal fee for each additional trash cart. Additional recycle carts are free of charge.
How do I request a bulk pickup?
The City of Melissa and our solid waste provider Waste Connections (formerly Progressive Waste Solutions) offer a FREE monthly bulk pickup for all residential solid waste customers to collect bulk items (such as furniture, appliances, etc.) and brush that are not fully containable inside of your cart.
Beginning in JULY 2018, free monthly bulk service pick-up will no longer be held on the second Saturday monthly for the whole City, but rather will occur BY ZONE on THURSDAYS EACH WEEK. For details on the makeup of each Zone, visit our Know YOUR Zone page.
To schedule your FREE bulk pickup, please contact Waste Connections customer service at (469) 452-8000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org by 4:00 p.m. the Wednesday prior to your Zone's scheduled pickup.
- NOTE: They will need to know generally what you plan for pick up at that time to avoid any potential issues - when in doubt, call or email photo to Waste Connection to avoid items being left behind.

How do I request to use the City Hall Community Room?
The City of Melissa designated the City Hall Community Room as a meeting space for educational, cultural, and philanthropic activities supporting the Melissa Community. Under the guidelines established in policy, community organizations may request use of the Community Room for meetings.
To inquire regarding the availability of the Community Room, please complete the inquiry form. Please allow please allow 48 hours for staff to respond to your inquiry. No requested reservations should be considered approved until confirmation is provided by City Staff.
Applicants must pay the associated deposit and/or security fee (if applicable) by check payable to the City of Melissa, in order to secure a reservation of the room.

How do I request a crash report?
You may request a copy of an crash/accident report online using the Crash Report Online Purchase System. You can search for and purchase Certified copies of your Texas Peace Officer's Crash Report (CR-3) through this website.
Reminder - accident / crash reports are not available until 3 - 10 days after the accident occurred.
The cost for an uncertified electronic copy of a Texas Peace Officer's crash report is $6.00 and $8.00 for a certified electronic copy.
How do I request a leak adjustment?
Current residential or commercial customers of the City may request an adjustment to any water bill from the City for extra water used due to damage or an identified leak that has been repaired. Requests should must be submitted on the Leak Adjustment Application and must include proof of repair.
**Applications must be received by the City within thirty (30) days of the repair of the leak. The City will only make an adjustment to the most recent bill affected by the repaired leak; multi-month adjustments will not be made.**

How do I request a police department housewatch?
The Vacation House Watch program is a program provided by the Melissa Police Department designed to give peace of mind to Melissa residents while they are away from home for extended periods of time. Employees of the Melissa Police Department will physically check each registered house during a resident's absence.
To request entry into the House Watch program, please complete the form provided as PDF on the Police Department webpage and submit via fax or in person.

How do I request to use a park facility?
Each of our City Parks offer facilities that are available to the community to enjoy and can be reserved for private gatherings. Visit Park Reservations for details including guidelines and usage fees and deposits.

Note: Reservations and/or confirmation of availability cannot be done outside of business hours and we ask that you do not solicit this information through the City's social media channels.
How do I request public information or records?
Requests submitted under the Public Information Act are handled by the City Secretary and can be submitted by mail, fax, email or in person.
All requests must be in writing and by law the City has 10 business days to respond to most public records requests.
All requests should include enough description and detail about the information requested to enable the City to accurately identify and locate the information requested.

To establish new service for Residential and/or Commercial water, sewer & solid waste service, please contact our Customer Care partner FATHOM at (855) 266-4941, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. *Please note that service may not be started (or stopped) more than 7 calendar days in advance.*
