The City of Melissa posts public notices here including pending zoning cases, budget and tax rate, annexations, current bid opportunities as well as other legal notices as required.  For all Council and Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Agendas and Minutes please visit the Meeting Agendas section of the website.  

Administratively complete pending zoning applications are posted here 72 hours in advance of the Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting at which the case will be considered.   All cases will be removed from this website within 3 days following City Council Consideration.   Questions regarding these pending zoning cases should be directed to Tyler Brewer, Director of Development & Neighborhood Services.  All other legal notices (including bids) and press releases will remain posted  here throughout the current fiscal year.  

All general city media inquiries and/or requests for comment should be directed to the City Manager's Office, attention Erin Mynatt, Communications and Technology Director or call (972) 838-1380.  Office hours are generally  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Notice is hereby given that the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Melissa will hold a Public Hearing on January 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in Melissa City Hall, 2nd Floor Council Chambers, located at 3411 Barker Avenue, Melissa, Texas and, in the event that the Planning and Zoning Commission takes action on the following matter, the City Council of the City of Melissa will hold a Public Hearing on January 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in Melissa City Hall, 2nd Floor Council Chambers, located at 3411 Barker Avenue, Melissa, Texas to hear concerns for or against a request for rezone from Agricultural (A) to Planned Development (PD) on the following tract of land: 97.470± acres situated in the John Fitzhugh Survey, Abstract No. 319, City of Melissa, Collin County, Texas and generally located approximately 0.30 mile south of the intersection of SH 5 and Melissa Rd, City of Melissa, Collin County, Texas.

Sealed bids addressed to the City of Melissa Parks Department will be received at City Hall, 3411 Barker Avenue, Melissa, TX  75454 until 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 and then publicly opened and read in the City Hall community room, for the 100 ACRE SPORTS FACILITY PHASE 2.  The project includes construction of a competition grade, lighted artificial turf baseball field with associated amenities, a tennis facility with eight courts, water and sewer utilities, a restroom building, a maintenance building, lighted roadways and parking lots, signage, earthwork, landscape and irrigation. The City of Melissa, Texas is soliciting sealed applications from eligible and qualified financial institutions to provide primary depository bank services. Sealed applications will be accepted until 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the City of Melissa, Attn: Gail Dansby, Finance Director, 3411 Barker Avenue, Melissa, Texas 75454.  Note: Applications received after 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 3, 2018 will not be considered.  There will be a public opening of applications immediately following  be read aloud. Interested parties athe submission due time/date in the City Hall.
