This is a community alert system to ensure you remain informed of important information. When signing up for CodeRED, you can also sign up for Weather Warning to receive calls when severe weather (tornado, flash flood, severe thunderstorm, and winter storm) warnings are issued by the National Weather Service for your address.

Without any human intervention required, CodeRED Weather Warnings deliver advanced notification of severe weather events as soon as a bulletin is issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). The system delivers voice calls, text messages and emails to subscribed users within the direct path of the storm. These messages provide residents the extra time needed to take precautions and save lives. Alert warnings may include tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood, tsunami and winter storm warnings.
CodeRED Weather Warning uses a polygon methodology to interpret bulletins issued by the National Weather Service to determine the severity of the warning and the exact areas affected. The system then creates a calling database of all CodeRED Weather Warning subscribers within the projected path of severe weather. Instead of traditional county-based warnings, the system delivers targeted alerts to only those who may be affected, increasing their relevance and reducing false alarms.

Those who have recently moved to the City but kept the same listed or unlisted number will need to input their current address into the database. When entering information, please fill out all of the screens. The newest data entered will replace the old data. Some have shared that addresses in newer phases of subdivisions may not be recognized. You will not receive severe weather alerts and notifications if you have only elected to enroll to receive the standard CodeRED notifications initiated by the City. If you want to receive these weather alerts, you must opt-in separately when signing up for CodeRED.
CodeRED is an ultra-high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications which allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency. The City will utilize CodeRED in any situation that requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child, and evacuation notices) but CodeRED may also be used in situations that are non-emergency related such as water service interruptions or traffic closures.
CodeRED delivers a prerecorded message describing the situations to a live person or an answering machine in the affected area possibly including instructions requiring action on the part of the recipient. The system works with both land line and cellular phones, but you must have a City of Melissa street address in order for the system to issue the proper notices.
Both CodeRED and CodeRED Weather Warning notifications are available by phone, email, text and mobile app (weather warning is an additional add on for a fee). For the most reliable severe weather warning delivery the City recommends you elect to receive the weather warnings via phone due to reported delays in receiving text messages as delivery time may vary by mobile service providers.

Yes, you can register more than one phone number and/or email address for your location when you register for CodeRED. Please note that it is highly recommended you register at least one phone number and one email address to ensure that you will receive CodeRED alerts in the event of a power outage or an incident that may occur late at night when you are generally asleep.
If you receive a CodeRED phone call, listen carefully to the entire message. You can repeat the message by pressing any key. Do not call 911 for further information unless directed to do so, or you need immediate aide from the police or fire department.
If you receive a CodeRED email or text message, please be sure to read the entire message carefully and follow all instructions.
The CodeRED system will leave a message on your answering machine or voicemail if you miss a CodeRED phone call. If you do not have an answering machine, the system will consider the call as "incomplete" and will attempt to call again after several minutes have passed. If your phone line is busy, CodeRED will try two more times to connect. At any point, you may re-dial the 800 number on your caller ID to hear a replay of the message sent.

No, the City of Melissa does not require a permit for an installation or activation of a private alarm system.
However, the State of Texas does require that an Alarm Installation and Activation Certificate be submitted to the local municipality in accordance to the Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1702.286 which states:
"An alarm systems company shall notify the municipality in which the alarm system is located of an installation or activation of an alarm system not later than the 30th day after the date of the installation or activation."

However we do recommend you confirm with your Homeowners/Property Owners association for any other requirements and/or limitations prior to holding your sale.
Yes, garage sale signs are considered ’stake signs’ and are regulated under City of Melissa Code of Ordinance § Article 3.1010 (Permissible Signs That Do Not Require the Issuance of a Sign Permit). Specifically subsection (g)(4) which is excerpted.
If you have any questions, please contact Code Compliance prior to placing your signs to avoid them being confiscated.
If your signs you have placed out for your garage sale have been removed, it is most likely due to their placement not being in compliance with the Sign Ordinance. Code Compliance staff completes regular rounds of all City of Melissa neighborhoods and will confiscate any signs that are not in compliance with the ordinance.
Also please keep in mind that certain Homeowners Associations may have additional requirements and/or limitations that lead to the signs being removed by them as well.

The Texas Water Development Board estimates average monthly usage for Texas water utilities ranges from 7,380 to 8,514 gallons. The City of Melissa’s average residential consumption is approximately 7,400 gallons per month. Additionally, the City’s rate study showed that on average, nearly 50% of residential customers were billed at the Tier 1 rate for their monthly water consumption charge. This along with the statewide data further suggests that volumes in the higher tiers appear to be a choice.

Very likely! Landscape watering typically accounts for the majority of household water use during summer months. Higher water use increases water bills - and increases the demand on our water supply.
It may be higher and there are a number of factors to look at when you see an increase in the amount of your bill:
This is likely due to the new rate structure that went into effect in October 2017. Although the City reduced the standard minimum charge for water from $31.53 to $24 (based on standard 3/4 inches water meter), to do this and maintain the integrity of the water fund, the City also adjusted the volumetric tiers for water consumption - applying the wholesale increases from NTMWD primarily to the higher volumetric tiers to further incentivize conservation. Therefore the City acknowledges that higher users (above average) will likely pay more in volumetric charges under this new rate structure.
The table illustrates the changes in the tiers under the new rate structure. Note that those that use over 15,000 gallons now enter Tier 3 whereas previously Tier 3 kicked in at over 20,000 gallons.
Although the minimum fee for water was reduced by $7.53 for all users, those that are above average consumers of water will enter the higher tiers (3 and 4) and therefore the total cost of water would end up higher for the same amount of water consumption due to the new rate tiers.
The City has invested in tools to empower our customers to take control of their water usage. Customers who chose to conserve can maximize potential savings by signing up for WaterMyYard and following the weekly watering notifications which are based on truly local weather data. When you couple this information with the data that is available through the AMI system and the U2You portal, our customers can take control of the greatest impact on their water usage, outdoor watering, thus helping to avoid surprises in their bill.

The City of Melissa has partnered with Waste Connections to offer a Senior Citizen Discount for garbage and recycling services for residents age 65 or over.

Any senior resident who submits the application along with a copy of his or her driver’s license and who has one set of garbage and recycling carts will receive monthly garbage and recycling service for $14.93 per month as opposed to $16.65 per month. The additional garbage cart cost of $5.91 and $3.29 for an additional recycle cart per month remains the same for all residents.
You must submit a Solicitors Application (PDF), consent to a background check, and pay an annual fee of $50 to obtain a City of Melissa Solicitor’s Permit.
You may download and complete the application ahead of time, but you must submit your application in person to the Melissa Police Department on the 2nd Floor of Melissa City Hall located at 3411 Barker Avenue. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
Once you submit your application, a background check will be completed and a photo ID and paper permit will be issued to you. This can take up to 7 business days.

The City of Melissa contracts with the Collin Central Appraisal District for property appraisal services and with Collin County Tax Assessor for the assessing and collecting of property taxes.
Property tax exemptions must be filed with the Collin County Central Appraisal District. Exemption applications are available online at the Collin Central Appraisal District (CAD) website and need to be filed by April 30. There is no fee to apply for an exemption through the Central Appraisal District and any questions should be directed to 469-742-9200.

The City of Melissa is a home rule city governed by a Council-Manager form of government in which the City Council establishes City policy through ordinances and resolutions, and the City Manager carries out City policy and is responsible for City operations. Additionally, the City of Melissa as a customer city of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) adopted the current Water Conservation and Water Resource and Emergency Management Plans (PDF) in April 2019.
To pay the fine in full, simply enter a plea of guilty or no contest on the reverse side of the citation and sign where requested. If you are mailing your plea and payment, it must be paid by or postmarked by the court date/due date indicated on the front of the citation above your signature.
If you are unable to pay the fine you may request a payment plan. This request is typically made before the Judge and established by the clerk. If you need more than 30 days to pay the balance, the State requires the Court to add an additional $25 to the total amount due. You must make the payments as indicated on the payment agreement, failure to do so will result in the issuance of a warrant for your arrest.
The Court will not accept payment with check if you are paying a warrant.

You must apply to become registered as a contractor with the City of Melissa in order to provide contractor services in the City limits.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or business entity in the business of contracting services which require, by State law or local ordinance, a license to perform such services, too, including but not limited to, erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish any plumbing, electrical, mechanical, irrigation and/or private sewage disposal system in the City of Melissa unless such person, firm, corporation or business entity is the holder of valid registration with the City of Melissa. Such person, firm, corporation, or business entity shall be herein designated, applicant, or registrant. Any work discovered that is performed with a required Licensed Contractor will be identified to prevent reuse and shall be removed. Multiple violations by a registered Contractor will result in the suspension of the Contractor Registration, the right to obtain permits to work in the City, and/or may include the issuance of citations and reporting to the State.
Contractor Registration Applications must be completed online through the MyGov Portal. Incomplete submittals will delay the review process and/or may cause a denial of the Contractor Registration Application.
The City of Melissa and Police Department are proud to introduce the Drive Like Your Kids Live Here safety initiative that is intended to help reduce the number of distracted drivers and speeding through neighborhoods through the placement of signs reminding drivers of the "drive like your kids live here". The Police Department is seeking to partner with our community on this safety initiative and will begin placing a few signs in each neighborhood in the near future. It is our goal to partner with each Melissa neighborhood and/or Homeowners Association in the future by offering bulk pricing to purchase additional signs through the Melissa Police Department at a discounted rate.

Melissa residents can sign up for CodeRED and CodeRED Weather Warning to receive the latest in emergency alerts, notifications for service interruptions, and severe weather updates by phone, email, and/or text. CodeRED Weather Warning will alert citizens in the direct path of severe weather. Notifications will be sent out moments after a severe thunderstorm, tornado warning, or flash flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service. Only citizens in the immediate impact area will be alerted. Register to get the call! Users must opt-in to receive alerts to their land-line or mobile telephone when signing up for CodeRED.
The City has implemented a tool called CodeRED, an emergency notification system capable of placing up to 60,000 telephone calls per hour. A pre-recorded message will be delivered telling residents and businesses about the situation and what action needs to be taken if any. When a situation arises in Melissa, City staff will turn to the Internet and the CodeRED mapping tools to designate a call area based on addresses.
With the push of a few buttons, a pre-recorded message describing the situation will be delivered to a live person or an answering machine in the affected area, possibly including instructions requiring action on the part of the recipient. Residents and businesses may add their numbers to the calling database by signing up and following the instructions. No one should automatically assume his or her telephone number is included.
The system works with cellular phones but requires a Melissa street address. People who have recently moved to the City but kept the same listed or unlisted number will need to input their current address into the database. When entering information, please fill out all of the screens. The newest data entered will replace the old data. CodeRED will be used for emergencies or disasters that might call for action like evacuation, sheltering in place, or boiling contaminated water, but may also be used in situations that are non-emergency related. The City Council passed Ordinance 12-19 in 2012 authorizing the use of golf carts on public streets in the City of Melissa and residents that are interested in utilizing golf carts in the City limits must register with the Melissa Police Department.
To register, contact the Police Department at 972-838-2033 to schedule an appointment for the inspection and registration process. You may bring your golf cart to City Hall or an officer to come out to your residence to complete the registration process. Please note that residents that live in neighborhoods that would require driving on highways and/or roadways which require speeds in excess of 35 miles per hour, must trailer the golf cart to City Hall in order to be in compliance with the law. As with all other motor vehicles under the transportation code, those interested in obtaining a permit must show proof of insurance at the time of registration. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the requirements/limitations under this ordinance prior to registering.
The City of Melissa does not require a permit for the installation or activation of a private alarm system. However, the State of Texas does require that an Alarm Installation and Activation Certificate be submitted to the local municipality in accordance with the Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1702.286 which states, "An alarm systems company shall notify the municipality in which the alarm system is located of an installation or activation of an alarm system not later than the 30th day after the date of the installation or activation."

The sole purpose of the program is to help our officers return a lost, special needs resident to their home quickly and safely. At times our officers come into contact with people of all ages who are lost. Most of the time, getting them back home is fairly simple. Other times, we encounter people who are disoriented and cannot remember their name, personal information, addresses, names of relatives or other information that would be helpful in returning them home. This disorientation may be caused by Alzheimer’s or a wide variety of medical or mental conditions. Circumstances such as these make it difficult for officers to get the person home quickly, but more importantly, it creates an additional burden on the lost person and on the family or caregivers who may be trying to locate them.
As part of the program, we receive and store photographs, emergency contact information, and other personal information for special needs citizens. This information is made readily available to our officers. It is stored and accessed in such a manner that first responders may make faster identifications and ultimately reunite family members much quicker.
Participation in this program is purely voluntary. The information collected is kept secure and is only used by Melissa Police Department employees to help return loved ones to their homes. The information collected under this program is confidential (Texas Government Code 552.101) and will only be used in compliance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 552. The City of Melissa is served by two primary companies that manage the electrical infrastructure (such as power lines) in our community. Should you experience a service outage or encounter a street light outage, you will want to report the outage directly to the appropriate electrical providers.

You may request a copy of a crash/accident report online using the Crash Report Online Purchase System. You can search for and purchase Certified copies of your Texas Peace Officer’s Crash Report (CR-3) through this website. Reminder, accident/crash reports are not available until 3 to 10 days after the accident occurred. The cost for an uncertified electronic copy of a Texas Peace Officer’s crash report is $6 and $8 for a certified electronic copy.
Current residential or commercial customers of the City may request an adjustment to any water bill from the City for extra water used due to damage or an identified leak that has been repaired. Requests should be submitted on the Leak Adjustment Application and must include proof of repair. Applications must be received by the City within 30 days of the repair of the leak. The Vacation House Watch program is a program provided by the Melissa Police Department designed to give peace of mind to Melissa residents while they are away from home for extended periods of time. Employees of the Melissa Police Department will physically check each registered house during a resident’s absence. The Annual Water Quality Report is a summary of the quality of the water the City of Melissa provides to its’ customers. The analysis for this report was made by using the data from the most recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) required tests and is presented in the required Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) which must be filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality annually. The CCR for the previous water year is typically published annually in late June and the City includes notification of the reports available in the utility bill sent out during that time as well. North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) first disinfects water using ozone and chlorine as part of the treatment process to eliminate bacteria and viruses. Then, for most of the year, NTMWD also adds chloramine (chlorine plus ammonia) as a secondary disinfectant to keep drinking water clean as it travels from the treatment plants through miles of pipes to homes and businesses. Each spring for one month, NTMWD temporarily suspends the use of ammonia and uses free chlorine as the secondary disinfectant to maintain water quality year-round. This process is also commonly referred to as annual chlorine maintenance. Check out this ’Protecting Water Quality’ fact sheet (PDF) from NTMWD for detail information.
This change is a common water system maintenance practice among water providers in states with warmer climates. North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) uses it to maintain the system and ensure high water quality year-round. It’s important to do this before summer because hotter temperatures can increase the potential for bacterial growth in pipes. The temporary change takes place annually and usually occurs for about a month each year from the end of February through early April. It is done before the summer hotter temperatures which can increase the potential for bacterial growth in pipes.
Yes, chlorine is tested, and many other compounds in water are monitored continuously. North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) conducts a quarter-million tests each year in a state-certified laboratory to monitor, regulate, and report water quality. In some cases, NTMWD is voluntarily increasing the frequency of testing above what is required. During the disinfectant change in 2018, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) also collected 117 samples from 31 public water systems that deliver NTMWD water to confirm compliance.
While the levels of chlorine in the water during the temporary disinfectant change are consistent with levels found in the water throughout the year, the temporary suspension of ammonia can make the chlorine more noticeable. Outdoor temperatures and overall water use also influence the reaction of chlorine to other materials in the water supply. This may cause smell and taste to fluctuate year to year. The intensity of the chlorine taste and smell can depend on the distance you are from the water treatment plant. North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) does not increase the amount of chlorine in the water during its four-week change in disinfectant; its taste and smell are more pronounced due to the absence of the ammonia (PDF).
Not everyone notices a change in the water during this period. The closer you live to the water treatment plant, the more noticeable the chlorine odor or taste may be. However, those who are sensitive to the changes can reduce chlorine taste and the odor by following these tips:

Local water providers (cities or utility districts) who receive North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) water may help move the chlorine-disinfected water through the system faster by flushing water out of fire hydrants. Frequent flushing helps maintain the system, ensure high water quality, and reduce the chlorine odor and taste. Performing system flushing in the spring also helps save valuable water during the summer months.

When the investigation of a complaint reveals that the charges are true, and should be sustained against a police employee, the Chief of Police notifies the employee and may take one of the following actions, depending on the nature of the violation:

The City of Melissa uses a Turbine Meter made by Master Meter. A water meter is a mechanical device that tracks usage flowing through it. Water meters are considered "Smart Meters" when used alongside an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system. In and of itself, meters are just mechanical measuring devices.
When water is used by a customer, water flows through the meter creating energy that rotates a pinwheel rotor within the flow stream. Water through a meter is measured proportionally by the speed of water through a meter. Each revolution of the pinwheel causes the dial to move and track the water through the meter. A meter reading stops when the flow stops and picks up where it left off once flow continues for the accumulation of volume.
Turn off all water sources within and outside of your house and then open the meter box to access the meter (if you are unable to open the meter box lid easily, you can purchase a water meter box key at any hardware store) and then flip open the black meter register cover. When opening the meter box, please make sure to do so slowly and carefully, as the City’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) equipment is generally mounted to the bottom of the meter box lid and is connected via a wire to the meter register. Once you have flipped open the meter register cover, look at the red dial on top of the meter. If the dial is spinning and you are sure that all water sources are turned off, then you may have a leak.
If you do determine that you have a leak, you may contact the City of Melissa Utility Billing Department about a Leak Adjustment.
The easiest and most cost-efficient way to test the accuracy of a meter is to conduct a bucket test. To conduct a bucket test, first, turn off all water sources within and outside the home. Open the meter box and take a manual read of the meter. If you are unable to open the meter box lid easily, you can purchase a water meter box key at any hardware store. When opening the meter box, please make sure to do so slowly and carefully, as the City’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) equipment is generally mounted to the bottom of the meter box lid and is connected via a wire to the meter register.
Next, fill a 5-gallon bucket with water from your home. Return to the meter and verify that the read increased by only 5 gallons. If only 5 gallons are measured, the meter is measuring accurately.
Upon request, the City of Melissa will send your meter to a third-party testing company for testing accuracy. Once the meter is tested by the third-party and generates a report with the findings, the meter is mailed back to the City. If the third-party deems the meter has passed (meter meets or exceeds American Water Works Association (AWWA) specifications) the meter is returned to the customer and reinstalled. The cost of third-party meter testing is $105 ($75 for testing and $30 for shipping costs). Customers are only responsible for testing costs if the meter passes and meets AWWA specifications.
Mechanical meters generally slow down over time causing the pinwheel revolution to move slower than its factory conditions, which results in the meter measuring less water. When this occurs, the meter becomes marginally less accurate and measures less water than is flowing through the meter. The City of Melissa has a meter replacement program to help ensure that water continues to be measured accurately over time. Mechanical meters cannot be manipulated.
Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) is what makes a mechanical meter a "Smart Meter." AMI does not alter a meter’s measuring capability but simply serves as a data collector that then transmits data to a third party for data management. AMI allows customers to see their usage data during a billing cycle.
Each customer meter is fitted with a Meter Transmission Unit (MTU) within the meter box. The City of Melissa uses Aclara Meter Transmission Units. Each hour, the MTU reads the mechanical meter and sends the read to Data Collection Units (DCU) throughout the City. The City currently has 6 active DCUs. Four times daily, the DCUs send data to Network Control Computers (NCC).
Please note, that a threshold of up to 24 hours should be given due to possible timing. The customer will need to take written notes of the on-site reading and times, then check the online system later to compare the digital data to the physically viewed information. If there is an issue with a particular hourly read, the next batch should send over the new readings and it levels out within that transmission period. Not necessarily. To mitigate the effects of high irrigation months on a customer’s sewer bill, the City of Melissa uses Winter Quarter Averaging for residential customers. Every year, each customer’s December, January, and February water meter readings are averaged together to arrive at a sewer consumption amount to be billed for the next 12 months. Since these wintertime months are generally indicative of basic and essential water usage, customers are not being charged sewer consumption for what is usually higher water usage due to irrigation in the summer months.
The Leak Adjustment Policy is reviewed periodically throughout the year, but at this time the policy is still active. Any leak adjustment request that would extend beyond the 30 day period the leak is first noted via the electronic meter reading data, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The following is a pie chart of the 6 components of the rates. The rates are not just the wholesale costs. The Water Fund is a non-profit fund; therefore, the rates only cover costs to cover Fund expenses.
The "take or pay" term used to describe the water supply contract means that the cities pay the fixed costs component of the wholesale water rate based on the highest year of consumption, even if in subsequent years they don’t reach that same level of water use. This ensures the fixed system costs are covered regardless of the amount of water used. The cities and their customers receive an annual rebate for the variable costs, such as chemicals and power not used for treatment and delivery, based on each city’s actual consumption for that year.
Cities don’t pay for "unused" water - they pay an allocation of the regional water infrastructure and system costs based upon the maximum amount of potential capacity each city needs. A tiered rate structure encourages water conservation by rewarding efficient use of water and reducing peak demands. Based on the 2017 to 2018 winter quarter average water use data, the City’s lowest tier (0 to 10,000 gallons per month) provides sufficient water to cover water use for basic and essential needs for 97% of Melissa’s residential water customers. The first and second tiers (up to 15,000 gallons per month) provide sufficient water to cover water use for basic and essential needs for 99.5% of Melissa’s residential water customers. Water usage in excess of basic and essential needs is non-essential and non-efficient discretionary use of water such as irrigation, swimming pool maintenance, car washing, etc. The discretionary use is usually seen in the summer months and drives water facility storage, distribution, and pumping facility sizing to meet peak summer demands.
Therefore, the discretionary high water uses to pay a higher tier to offset the increased costs of sizing facilities to meet peak, discretionary demands.
Any City of Melissa residential solid waste customers are eligible for the free Monthly Bulk Pickup provided by our provider Community Waste Disposal (CWD).
Bulk and brush will be collected once a month, according to this schedule, beginning with the Friday that falls in the first full week of each month. No call is necessary.

Community Waste Disposal (CWD) observes six main holidays that may impact your regularly scheduled bulk pickup date. Those holidays are the same that can impact your regular trash/recycle pickups and are:
In the event one of these holidays falls on your trash/recycling pickup day, service will be delayed by one day. In the event that occurs, your regular bulk pickup would also then be delayed by one-day and would now be on the Saturday of your week. Important! CWD does not provide pickup for commercial demolition, construction, nor remodeling debris. Household debris must be containerized to be eligible for pickup. The box or other disposable container must be no larger than 2′ x 2′ x 4′ and weigh no more than 50 pounds.

Collin County has suspended the monthly free bulk disposal (Collin County Cleanup Day) normally held on the 1st Saturday of the month as of August 2018 due to the ongoing construction of SH 121 at the landfill’s entrance. For more information on this visit the Collin County Public Works website.
Payments made through the Interactive Voice Response/IVR or online payment portal are assessed a $1.25 system maintenance fee per transaction.
The City of Melissa is not alone in exercising our right to pass through these charges to our customers. An increasing number of cities (and other public entities) have seen the number of customers paying fees for service by credit/debit card increasing to the point that the levied processing charges are becoming quite excessive too much to just absorb. With legislation enacted by the State of Texas in the last decade authorizing passing this fee along, many have made the determination to assess a ’convenience fee’ or pass through these charges to the customer.

All trash and recycling carts need to be out by 7:00 am on your respected day of every week. In the event of a holiday, your trash will be picked up one day later. If you do not know your service day please check the collection map below.
Please ensure the trash and recycle carts are separated by at least three (3) feet, and are also three (30 feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches. Carts should be placed on the curb with the wheels toward the residence. Cart lids must be completely closed.
We encourage you to try your cart for a few weeks before ordering a second cart. If you should decide that you require more than one trash cart, you may call the Utility Billing Department at 972-838-2035 to order a second trash cart. You will be charged a nominal fee for each additional trash cart. Additional recycle carts are free of charge.
