NEW adult book clubs at YOUR Melissa Library!
Attention Book Lovers! The Book Gatherings at Melissa Public Library will begin meeting regularly this MARCH! Two different styles are scheduled - see which works for you!
Third Thursday Bookworms
We will meet monthly on the 3rd Thursday to share 3-4 books or movies they have enjoyed over the past month or so. Everyone will NOT have read the same books, though we may stop at any month and all read one strongly recommended. Bring your 0-4 books to share over whatever time we have. Get ideas, have a cuppa, share your favs. We have 4-5 folks committed to coming, so drop on in!
- For our first gathering, come to the Melissa Library on Thursday March 21 at 9-10:00 a.m. (Come right in, the library is closed but the reading is ON!)
We will gather on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. starting on Saturday, March 16. Our first book selection will be ‘The Book Thief’ by Markus Zusak. This is a great young adult story, so teens are welcome.
- We only have 2 folks coming at this point, so grab a buddy and stop by to hear about a great book or suggest the book for the next month or discuss the one we all could have read.
- Bring your kids that are old enough to self-monitor and they can watch a movie or enjoy the childrens’ area!
For suggestions/questions or to put the above books on hold, contact email@example.com.
Teen Next Chapter Book Club
The Melissa Public Library is proud to offer this club for our community members called the Teen Next Chapter Book Club. It is part of a national program that is geared towards individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and our program will be targeting to teenagers specifically. This is not a teaching program, but rather a fun way to socialize and read some great stories! For more information, visit http://nextchapterbookclub.org/.
If you or a teenage family member or friend could benefit from a weekly social club, we would love to hear from you! We are looking for feedback to help set primary meeting days and times so be sure to stop by the Library or contact Jennifer Nehls for more information or questions and to share your preferred meeting day and times.
