Santa Run returns with one-evening visit on Monday

Dec. 13 visit follows uninterrupted route

 

MELISSA (December 9, 2021) The annual Santa Run is back! The Melissa Fire Department will be taking Santa Claus around town on Monday, Dec. 13 starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. In order to complete the route, Santa’s ride on the ladder truck will not be able to stop, but the pace will be slow enough for children to wave and photograph the jolly old elf.

                The route will be continuous and begin at the Melissa Fire Station. The route can be altered by conditions outside of the control of the driver, and any real-world emergency or unavoidable circumstance may alter the route or schedule.

                Santa’s Run will begin at the Fire Station, and proceed along Melissa Road westerly to Whispering Pine Blvd. Then, he will turn north on Whispering Pine Blvd. to Sam Rayburn (SH 121), turning south on Sam Rayburn to Liberty Way. At Liberty Way, he will turn north and proceed to Pennsylvania. He stays on Pennsylvania until he gets to Jersey, where he turns north on Jersey then east on Jefferson and back to Liberty Way.

                From Liberty Way he turns north to Throckmorton, then east to Milrany Road. From Milrany he turns north on Cedar, then west on Acacia back to Throckmorton. At Throckmorton and McKinney St. (SH 5), he turns south to Melissa Rd. He turns east on Melissa Road all the way to Hunters Ridge. At Hunters Ridge he turns south until Basswood. There it’s a quick loop from Forest Lane to Fisherman Trail to Fannin Road. He goes north on Fannin Road back to Melissa Road.

                He turns west on Melissa Road to the US 75 service road where he turns north. At Country Ridge Road, he turns east and ends up at Surrey. There, he turns south on Cardinal Drive all the way to Fannin Road. He takes Fannin Road to the US 75 service road and turns south. At Lindenwood, he turns west to Laurel St., then another quick loop on Fairfield to Crescent to Maplewood and back to Lindenwood. At the US 75 service road, he heads south to Pebble Brook.

                His final quick loop takes him from Pebble Brook to Canyon Lane to Stonebrook Trail to Hidden Springs Drive to Stone Hollow Way. From there, he ends the run and returns to the Fire Station.
