CITY OF MELISSA LAUNCHES TEXTMYGOV: A NEW TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE FOR INSTANT CITY UPDATES
MELISSA, TX— We are thrilled to introduce TextMyGov, a convenient and smart text messaging service! This service will enable residents to effortlessly receive important notifications and easily find specific information by texting the city.
The City of Melissa will officially launch the new text messaging system to the public on October 29th, 2024. Residents may receive a text message from 91896 initiating the service. You can choose to opt-out at any time by texting STOP.
If you don’t receive the initial message, you can opt-in by texting the keyword MELISSAINFO to the number 91896. After sending the initial keyword, you will be asked to reply “YES” to confirm opt-in. Residents may receive notifications for events, road closures, etc. For specific text alerts, text one of the following keywords to the number 91896:
- EXAMPLE notifications: text MELISSAINFO or MELISSAEVENTS to 91896
Also, starting soon, residents will be able to receive on-demand information 24/7 by texting 1-2 keywords to the City of Melissa’s TextMyGov number, 469-966-5695. You’ll be able to get quick information about events, hours, and other information about the City of Melissa.
