During the week of Sept. 28 to Oct. 2 residents will begin receiving their new Community Waste Disposal (CWD) poly carts on the day of their service. For example, the Monday route residents will get their carts on Monday, Sept. 28, Tuesday route residents will get theirs on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and so on. Residents currently paying for extra trash carts will receive those during the week of Sept. 28. Obtaining additional carts can be accomplished by contacting the City of Melissa Utility Billing Department or by calling (972) 838-2035.
If the carts are not delivered on the new service day during the week of Sept. 28, residents should contact CWD at (972) 392-9300 option 2.
On Wednesday, Sept. 30 the final pickup by Waste Connections will occur. Residents should set out all of the Waste Connections carts, even if empty, and leave them curbside for pickup. CWD carts should not be used until Oct. 5. Waste Connections will continue to pick up old carts on Oct. 1 and 2.
If old Waste Connections carts are not removed by Friday, Oct. 2, residents should contact CWD at (972) 392-9300 option 2.
On Monday, Oct. 5, CWD will begin servicing the City of Melissa utilizing the new five-day collection schedule. Carts should be placed curbside on the appropriate collection day by 7:00 a.m.
