Atmos Update
MELISSA, TX- The City of Melissa has been in contact with Atmos regarding a gas outage affecting 485 customers generally in the Meadow Run subdivision and surrounding area.
Atmos has completed the purging of natural gas of their system and have begun the process of restoring services to the impacted customers.
Because there are 485 customers that need the reestablishing of their individual gas systems, Atmos is bringing in additional staffing to help expedite turning services back on. Because the timing for all impacted is not known, the City, in partnership with Melissa ISD, will be opening a warming station at the Melissa High School cafeteria, situated at 3030 Milrany Ln starting at 12:30 p.m.
Atmos will need an adult (18 years of age or older) at the house to restore services when a technician arrives.
The City of Melissa is in constant contact with Atmos and will continue to bring you updates as we get them. We understand the inconvenience and discomfort this may cause for our residents and appreciate your patience. Customers who opted for text communications from Atmos will continue to be notified by Atmos.
For more information, Atmos Energy’s Storm Center page at atmosenergy.com/stormcenter will be updated regularly with the latest information. There is also a banner on each page of atmosenergy.com that links to the Storm Center.
We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
