Jason Little Biography

City Service

Jason Little is the City Manager for the City of Melissa and was appointed City Administrator in December 2006. Following the passage of the City Charter in November 2011, where the voters approved a move to a Council/Manager form of government, Jason assumed the role of City Manager.

Prior to this position, he served various roles in the City of Hurst over a seven year period. Starting as an intern, he was hired as Management Assistant, promoted to Assistant to the City Manager, and lastly served as Administrative Services Director.

Volunteering & Public Service

Throughout his career in public service, Jason has always been an active volunteer and member of city management and public service organizations including the:

  • International City/County Management Association
  • North Texas City Management Association
  • Texas City Management Association (TCMA)
  • Urban Management Assistants of North Texas

Jason currently serves on the TCMA Membership Committee and has completed the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia Darden School and the Leadership ICMA 2009 class.

Education & Credentials

In May 2012, Jason received the Credentialed Manager designation (ICMA-CM), from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Little is one of more than 1,200 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.

Jason received his Bachelors of Science from Sam Houston State University and his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
