Primary Meter Exchange and AMI Installation Completed
FATHOM has completed the meter exchanges in Berry Farms which was our last subdivision to be be migrated to the new AMI system.   Since October, we have exchanged/retrofitted over 2,700 meters citywide - thank you to everyone for your cooperation during this process! With this completion the installers have left town and our Public Works staff will now be responsible for any new installations and will be finalizing the exchange of a select amount of meters throughout the City.  Our staff will now move into the next phase of our AMI implementation to prepare the customer portal that will allow YOU access for managing your own usage - stay tuned in the coming weeks for more!

Annual Fire Hydrant Maintenance
Beginning February 1st, there will be a crew out doing fire hydrant maintenance and flow testing throughout the City over the next 4-6 weeks.  The amount of water used during this testing is less than the normal flow testing done by the Fire Department but still may appear as an unusual amount of water on the street and also the curb and gutter. Additionally the contractor will not conduct flushing during projected periods of freezing temperatures and will end all work before sundown.  If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Jeff Cartwright Director of Public Works at (469) 853-9788 or email jcartwright@cityofmelissa.com
