Melissa Construction Oversight Committee

Serves as an oversight committee only, with no authoritative duties or power to direct any construction contractor or person(s) performing work at any project. They review construction plans, check on work being performed, and report their findings back to the Mayor, the City Administrator and the City Engineer.

They are charged with the duty of asking questions of the City Engineer, the City Permits and Code Department, the Mayor, the City Council, and any contractor performing work for the City of Melissa or for a project that will become part of the municipal infrastructure of the City of Melissa. Their ultimate responsibility is to confirm the City of Melissa Administration and its residents are being treated fairly, receiving a quality product and to provide an outside set of experience, knowledge and set of eyes to projects that are or will be the maintenance responsibility of the City of Melissa.

3-5 members with education, skills and or specific knowledge pertaining to the construction business. The committee will be comprised of residents living within the city limits of the City of Melissa and be appointed for 1 year term by the City Council.

Meets as needed at the Melissa City Hall at 3411 Barker Avenue.
