Fannin Road Construction Update - PHASE III

The City of Melissa would like to apologize for the construction work along Fannin Road and thank the citizens of Melissa for their continued cooperation and patience as we make our improvements.

Beginning approximately March 23rd, the contractor will begin Phase III of the reconstruction project, which will close the eastern portion of Fannin Road from Cardinal Drive to Highway 5.  Only residents who live along this segment of Fannin Road will have access to this area.  All other traffic will have to utilize the new road segment from Melissa Road to Cardinal Drive.  The project is currently scheduled to be completed in June of this year. 

Prior to this occurring, the City is working hard to inform residents of the changing traffic patterns, and is also working with local police to make certain that safety is a priority during this project. Increased police patrols in this area will be utilized to ensure compliance with the speed limit and safe driving behaviors.  Please be aware that the City has also implemented text based information distribution system, called Nixle, which is free for residents and will be utilized to publicized information such as this.  If you have not already, please visit the City’s website and sign up for this free system at www.cityofmelissa.com.  The link is on the homepage.
