Melissa Fire Department strives to provide the highest level of life safety and property conservation through the extension of fire prevention, fire suppression, medical rescue and public education services consistent with the prudent utilization of public funds while fostering economic growth through leadership, management, and appropriate actions.
The Melissa Fire Department responds to all fire, rescue, medical and other emergency events within the City of Melissa, as well as providing automatic and mutual aid to emergency events for our neighboring communities. The Melissa Fire Department ensures the fire codes and city ordinances are enforced through proper plan reviews and appropriate inspections. The Melissa Fire Department promotes fire safety for the citizens of Melissa through interaction and programs to schools and community groups.
Your Fire Department consists of 30 volunteer firefighters who dedicate their personal time, commitment, and life to serve you. They do so with the desire to provide excellent emergency services and a safer environment for your family, friends, and visitors to the wonderful City of Melissa while sacrificing their personal time away from their families and careers in order to promote a higher quality of life for all.
It is our goal, desire, and duty to provide you, the citizens of Melissa, the most efficient and professional emergency services as possible of a volunteer fire service by responding with highly trained fire fighters and first responders with genuine compassionate care in your time of need.
