City Council Special Election Filing Underway through June 27
Council Member Julie Anderson has notified the City Council of her intention to resign her Place due to relocation of residency outside the City of Melissa.  As such the Council has called a Special Election to be held on August 27, 2016 to fill the vacancy left by Mrs. Anderson for Place 1.  Click on the header for full details and legal notices.

Mosquito Treatment at Zadow Park for Celebration of Freedom Festivities
In preparation for the upcoming Celebrate Freedom event the City of Melissa will conduct a ground fogging treatment to abate mosquitoes on city owned properties in and around Zadow Park. Fogging will begin, weather permitting, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016. However please don't forget to bring your own bug spray and take precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones.

The Biggest Event In Melissa Texas - Full Day of Fun with something for Everyone! Start off your day at the MFD Pancake Breakfast at 7:30 to 10:00 a.m., stop by the  Farmers Market 9:00 a.m. to noon, and then head over to see the Parade at 10:00 a.m.  The evening Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. at Zadow Park with the Children's Play Area opening at 6:00 p.m.  Live music provided by The Maylee Thomas Band at 7:15 p.m. followed by everyone's favorite....Fireworks at 9:45 p.m.!
